NON-CONTACT BIAXIAL EXTENSOMETER

Vector B80

Vector B80 sits within our non-contact extensometer range. With enhanced resolution, the biaxial extensometer can also perform uniaxial testing of smaller specimens than U200 or U70.

B80 is capable of meeting ISO 9513 class 0.5 and ASTM E83 class B-1 for gauge lengths greater than 7.5mm, and of specimens with widths greater than 1.5mm.

Biaxial Extensometer

Vector B80 excels in biaxial testing, offering important insights into material properties. This capability is crucial for Plastic Strain Ratio (r), Strain Hardening Exponent (n) and Poisson’s ratio testing as it reveals how the material behaves under various load conditions and provides comprehensive data. All Vector modules offer a 150Hz measurement rate, making it suitable for strain rate-controlled applications. Vector measures to failure and performs strain-rate controlled testing compliant to ISO 6892 and ASTM E8. Enhanced resolution allows the B80 to also perform uniaxial testing of smaller specimens than the U200 and U70.

Accurate data

One of the key advantages of the Vector biaxial extensometer is its ability to provide real-time, accurate data in situations where complex, multidimensional stress analysis is required. Vector can operate in harsh environments, challenging light conditions, and temperature chambers with no loss of functionality, whilst increasing strain test efficiency and reliability by reducing handling operations.

Intuitive testing

Easy to understand feedback from both the Vector software interface and Vector itself provides immediate confirmation of the state of the module. Laser alignment guides, status indicator lights, and a flexible operating distance all assist the operator during setup and use. The non-contact technology allows for the ability to test highly fragile specimens without impacting them, reducing throughput times and complexity, automating the process of capturing strain and elevating data consistency and operator safety.
